Next wave

Our second wave of QIC Program is wrapping up and we are starting to plan for Wave 3. We hope to deliver Wave 3 of QIC Program January to June 2011, and are currently assessing the demand for the program.

Wave 3 promotional materials haven't yet been developed, but if you want to know more about QIC Program, please review the Wave 2 Application Package, as much of the information will be the same for Wave 3 of the program. If you are interested in participating, contact:

QIC Program is an intense course that will transform your approach to quality improvement. QIC Program is about more than knowledge, it's about profound knowledge. What's the difference? It's the difference between information and understanding. Between knowing the answers...and knowing the questions to ask.

Learn it: Participants will develop a strong foundation in W.E. Deming's philosophy and tools for quality improvement (QI). You'll develop the all-important ability to manage the human, group and organizational dimensions of change that are a significant part of any improvement initiative, no matter what tools you are using.

Live it: Participants will get hands-on experience with a wide variety of improvement science tools and methods. You'll be able to immediately apply what you learn to what you do. The stuck spots won't be hypothetical - they'll be real challenges you can work through in a supportive learning environment. In this wave of QIC Program, we will encourage participants to work on projects related to the provincial focus on transformation of the surgical experience.

Lead it: At the end of the course, you will have the skills to nurture, coach, and mentor quality improvement - in your surgical experience project, or anywhere it's needed.

Your surgical experience project. Your quality improvement knowledge.

Let's take them both to the next level.
