Join Farha Shariff (PhD) for a virtual live discussion and Q&A on Octo 1, 2020 (Part 1) and October 8, 2020 (Part 2) from 8-9 PM EST.
Dr. Shariff is a daughter of immigrants and mother to three bossy women who will run the world one day. She is an academic and professor at the University of Alberta, and her areas of research include anti-racist and anti-opporessive pedagogy, cultural identity, hybridity, power and privilege. Dr. Shariff has worked with a wide range of individuals, from community and professional organizations, the Police and Community Engagement team, Edmonton Police Service, schools, teachers and administrators, to corporate businesses, and provides coaching on navigating personal and professional barriers with regards to anti-racist strategies and pedagogy.
The Equity in Medicine team is comprised of Canadian medical leaders committed to creating a safe space for discussion of #EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion) issues in medicine. Our goals are to increase awareness of #EDI and build relationships to expand advocacy and affect policy development.
