Session description

Identifying and understanding variation in data is critical to drive continuous quality improvement efforts.  This session builds on the March 2017 and May 2017 QI Power Hour sessions (recorded sessions available at: http://hqc.sk.ca/news-events/qi-power-hour-hqc ), which covered the foundational concepts of variation, its importance to quality improvement work, the tools to identify it, and strategies for managing it.  Participants are strongly encouraged to review these foundational sessions in advance of this webinar.

This session:

  • Briefly recaps the key concepts of variation and how  to manage it
  • Digs deep into selecting the correct type of control chart based upon the type of data you have
  • Walks through how to create a control chart in Microsoft Excel
