Session Description:

 Being a healthcare leader was complicated enough last year, but wow this year has been crazy!  Creating depth in your leadership toolkit is more important than ever. There are so many tools that you can access as a leader and coaching is a trendy and often misused tool.  There is a time and a place for coaching, and to let you in on a secret - its is not all of the time.  Knowing which tool to use and how to use it effectively makes all the difference in team dynamics, productivity and overall health in the workplace.  When a coaching conversation used in the right setting, with the right intention and focusing on the right things it can be a very effective tool for leaders to help their teams excel in this uncertain world.

According to the International Coach Federation the 5 outcomes of coaching are

  1. improved communication skills,
  2. increased confidence,
  3. increased productivity,
  4. optimized individual/team performance,
  5. improved work/life balance.

In this webinar we will discuss:

  • What coaching is and what it is not;
  • The different types of conversations that leaders need to engage in with their teams;
  • How to recognize when coaching will be beneficial for an individual;
  • The key 5 stages of a coaching an effective coaching conversation; and
  • What you can do to increase your coaching skills.
Speaker Bio:

Jennifer is edgy, funny, and loves to challenge the status quo.  With over 25 years of leadership in public and private organizations, she climbed the corporate ladder to discover her passion for innovation, leadership development and unlocking people’s potential.

In her climb to the top she shattered the proverbial glass ceiling for women in a masculine dominated industry.  In 2011, at the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Jennifer was the first woman to hold a position as an Assistant Deputy Minister and went on to lead the Operations Division where she was responsible for leading a team of over 1,000 employees and budgets over $300M.

 She is a professional accountant but by no means is she a typical accountant.  She draws on her executive coaching training to redefining what success looks like through her company, Intentional You.  There, she challenges individuals to question their stories, their capabilities, and their judgments of themselves, to give them the platform to jump beyond what they ever thought was possible.

Her Professional Qualifications include:

  • Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) (May 2019)
  • Public Sector Governance Certification (PSGov) through Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (October 2018)
  • Certified Executive Coach (CEC) through Royal Roads University (April 2015)
  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) (June 2001)
